Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress born in Berkeley on the 1st of October 1995. She is an actor who has been featured in Choices 2010. The Heart and Other Small Shapes 2006 as well as Chrissie Mayr's Content House
Asia Argento grew up in Rome Italy. Her family is made up of actors, and she herself has been pursuing both careers. When she was nine she made her feature film debut with Sergio Citti in Sogni e bisogni. She had a leading role as Cristina Comencini in her first film Zoo which was released in 1989. Michele Soavi directed The Church 1989. Red Wood Pigeon, directed by Moretti in 1989, was her character as Nanni Moretti's young daughter. Close Friends, written and directed Michele Placido in 1992, was where Asia's career took off. After playing the role of young girls, she shifted to more complicated and more mature roles. Cannes International Film Festival received the film with great awe. Trauma (1996) and The Stendhal Syndrome are others she's made with her famous father. The Phantom of the Opera will be her third film together with her father, the first two films being Trauma & The Stendhal Syndrome. Asia's absorbed and intense approach to acting has been utilized in the film by Giuseppe Piccioni in Condannato a nozze. Patrice Chereau directed Queen Margot and she played an appearance as a physically disabled girl in the movie. In 1995, her collaboration with Michel Piccoli, in Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion won her yet another award, this time the David di Donatello as well as Grolla di Oro. Asia started directing short films in the year 1994. The two she directed were Prospettive In 1996, she directed a document about her father and then Abel/Asia in 1998, about the legendary director Abel Ferrara. This latter was presented by the Rome Film Festival. Asia debuted as a feature-length director with Scarlet Diva (2000). In this film, she also starred and authored the screenplay. The film premiered worldwide in May 2000. The film was awarded a prize at the Williamsburg International Film Festival, Brooklyn. In 2001, following the directing of numerous music videos the actress gave birth to the first of her daughters, Anna Lou. She starred with Jean-Marc Barr on The Red Siren, directed by Olivier Megaton. In 2003 she starred alongside Vin Diesel and Rob Cohen's action thriller. Asia also wrote some short stories which have been published by a number of magazines.
